Thanks, man! She's been just great thus far. We set up a crate with a blanket about five feet from our bed last night. Four times in a row, my wife encouraged her to lay in the crate, only to see her get out and hop on the bed once my wife got under the covers. (I wasn't in the room yet.) But the fifth time, she settled into the crate and started snoozing. We very quietly got in bed and turned out the lights. She got up onto the bed once during the night very briefly, but otherwise stayed in the crate. And she's only gone to the bathroom outside so far. What a trooper!

Congrats!It took 15 days because she had to get spayed, treated for a little cough, and her first heartworm treatment (it's very common in the Carolinas), but we took her home this evening! We've had her for less than 3 hours, and the majority of that has been in the car or Petco. But she's been very sweet. And sleepy at times; I'm sure a shelter isn't the best place to get rest.

Kind of backwards. The boys relaxing in the new apartment after a hard-day's moving by dad. They seem to be handling the transition well.

OK. I admit it. I've had dogs my whole (long) life, and never heard of a speed collar. My first thought was that it was made out of white crosses, but I'm guessing that's wrong.

So while I was off at a gig on Saturday, my bride, daughters and daughter in law were working on flowers for our youngest daughter's wedding this Sat. I built the pillars and stained them a couple weeks ago. They sent me this photo of the completed project.
Today marks one week since we adopted Patti. She's showing more of her personality, which is awesome overall. We just have to work on separation anxiety and making sure she only chews on what's she supposed to. A cloth-covered phone charging cord got chewed almost all the way through while my wife and I were both in the kitchen for a bit. And the one time we had to put her in the crate and close the door (we were both gone for 90 minutes), she ripped up 2-3 slats on the (cheap, leftover) blinds on a door. She didn't seem mad and we didn't hear crying, maybe she was just bored. (She had one toy in there.) It's early days, though, and we're working on giving her more exercise now that she's off one med and showing more energy. And after her first bath, she had her first case of the zoomies, which was a blast to watch.
She got her first pup cup Sunday at the grocery store Starbucks, pretty much inhaling it.
And here she is this morning, chewing on some Halloween toys.

Thanks for posting Greg. Got to give this couple a lot of credit and respect for their dedication, time and money for taking care of special needs pups like this. So glad there are people in the world like this.
