Little Boomer chillin at my house
Boomer with his new forever Mom, she spoils him massively!!
She bought him googles to wear for their motorboat outings and got him a life jacket.
He has a University of Houston Football Jersey (the real thing) to wear on game days, this woman's son is the quarterback there.
Boomer lives in Dallas now and living in the lap of luxury....a long way from a trash pile.
Duke at his forever home, he got a baby to be a Dad to.
Dukey was a very nice boy, he deserved a good home.
My daughters dog Chula on her way to Austin.
She was part of a dog fighting ring in Cleveland, the authorities seized 27 dogs, she was used primarily as a breeding bitch as far as they could tell from medical evidence, this is why she is so small, the idiots bred her at six months old in her first heat and she stopped growing when she got pregnant.
It took 7 plane rides to get from Cleveland to Austin, all volunteer pilots with their own planes, for free at their own expense, lots of effort to free that little dog from her former life.
The guy who got busted did a bit of prison time after the court case, but the rule in Ohio was to kill these "inherently dangerous dogs" after the court case, so rescue organizations all over the country volunteered to take the dogs, I took Chula the day she arrived.
The black Pit with her is named Coltrane, he got a nice forever home in Austin as well, he had heart-worms when he got here, so had to come back from that.
He was used for fighting, but is a gentle sweet dog and has lived successfully for years now in a family with small children and a cat.
This is Chula twenty minutes after I first picked her up the day she flew into Austin.
She is leashed to Loki soaking up his magic chill vibe.
It only took her two or three days to start acting like a normal dog.
She had never been outdoors really and had spent her 2 1/2 years of life chained in a basement.
The first time she came to a creek in the woods she had no idea what to do, she had never been in the water, I had to carry her across.
Later that day Loki pulled her into a deep water pool while they were sharing a stick and she had to swim, been a water nut ever since.
