greenies are a bit of a divisive treat - many trainers I know recommend them, others discourage.

just a heads up if you ever notice digestive issues - bloody stool, in particular - that can often be linked to feeding greenies.

if he's been enjoying them regularly and has not had an issue yet it's probably fine.

i love doodles, but they're usually the ones that have issues with things like that.

Thanks. She's been eating a greenie every night pretty much since we got her three years ago. The only time she ever had an issue was when we switched to the Amazon-branded version to try to save a few bucks. She had a little diarrhea a couple times--but as soon as we switched back, the problem ended. We also give the greenies some credit for her excellent dental health.

they are proven to work on teeth, that is for sure. I guess the argument is "what they do to the teeth can happen inside the body as well"

hearty healthy dogs obviously can use them to good benefit, but it's something to have in the back of your mind in the event of any issues (specifically bloody stool) which could happen later in life.

I've had several clients (all some type of doodle) that had this particular issue over the years, enough that I stopped recommending them.

The trouble is, they DO work, and dental health is more important than most owners realize. A dog who can eat them and likes them is sort of a blessing.

Lily gets a Greenie occasionally, usually after her 'spa day' at the vet. She tolerates them fine.
