Last week, we had to say goodbye to Cody...13+ years.
We're pretty sure a tumor on his spleen began to bleed (apparently this is a common thing?).
He really only had 3 terrible days.
The vet said think of that as a blessing.
For the 1st time in 25 years, our home is without a doggie. It's pretty tough.

Sorry for your loss - it's never easy!
We lost our Jake almost 2 years ago when he couldn't get up. I took him to the emergency vet and he had a tumor on his spleen and another at the base of his heart. He passed 3 days later and a month and a half after we lost our other dog, Tikka.
It's never easy to loose pets (or anyone).

Sorry to hear about Cody. I'm sure he was lucky to have you as his dog dad. Hope the good memories of him help ease the loss.

Glad he (and you Jim) only had three terrible days, ..he was lucky to have your love and care to help him.

My dogs are effectively my family. Every loss hurts like hell. Much sympathy!
damn things just aren't durable enough ... hard to believe that Kona is coming up on 6.5. Has a disk issue so he's getting to swim more and romp less. Good thing we are having an early spring.
Kona foreground, Columbia River and Washington background. Funny he photographs so small and he's low 80 pound range. Still looks like a puppy to me.
