Boy, the C4's seem to be getting a lot of love here. I need to try one out.
The latest version. Notes:
- Two loopers is so much fun. I understand why nice ones have layers like that.
- TC Spark after SA Aftershock really brings out musical nuances in the dirt. Even just a little bit of Spark really spreads out and naturalizes the sound (sorry for lame adjectives).
- Had space for an iPad and an audio interface so went for it. So far it's been incredibly fun and useful. Everything from recording, tuner, lists and notes and more. Too much more actually.
- The always ons are Buffer/Tuner, Compressor, Spark, HPF, Pre. Everything else is extraneous.
- The power out on the full size Polytune was key as I only have 10 power points on my Rockboard power supply (which is completely silent, great unit). Smaller one is cool size but that extra port saved me.
- 18v into Compressor and HPF is great, very handy function on power supply.
- AudioboxGo is a solid 2x2 line powered audio interface. The routing possibilities combined with the ABY box on the back are very useful. Latency is tolerable depending on how you route and monitor.
- I've a midi keyboard connected to the iPad up by the music stand and and that has been very useful. There are some killer sounds that an iPad can generate for live, as triggered/sequenced, for working out parts and more.
- Rockboard Mod1 Patchbay makes in and out super clean.
- I kind of want to sell the whole thing as I'm currently passionate about pure signal path, finger tone, subtle instrument qualities, etc.
This is where things live for now. The Temple X Mod patch bay allows inserting other flavors before or after the Octabvre>You're Doom>MS-60B. I've been playing with the MS-60B itself in a blended loop for synth sounds, and so far it's promising.
For what it's worth, to me comps, boosts and various eqs are in many ways about exploiting subtle instrument qualities so they don't get buried in a mix.
But it turns out that it's your board and you can do what you want
.Split signal path. Semi clean and effect path. The aguilar db 925 and valve drive for the clean channel. The aguilar for clean, the valve drive for crunchy. With the valve drive on the aguilar can give an extra boost in louder parts.
The effects go mxr bod to mxr envelope to zoom ms 60b.
All of this is routed via the switchblade. It let's me go separate, or A and B. It let's me put the 2 signals parallel or in series and I can change the order of the series. And if I want I can get an extra truly unaffected signal extra.

I tried really hard. Got the Strymon and the cable tie downs and zip ties but it still looks messy. But the power cables are too long. I’m not much into soldering but I wish I could learn how to cut the power cables down to size and put new ends on them.

Changed some stuff out, most recent layout. I hope this one stays put for a while. I think I like what I have - I just need to figure out how to adjust the travel on my expression pedal--It currently does a big hump starting at 0, going to 100% at about 2/3 travel and finishing at 23% in the toe position... 
Do you like Aftershock more than Plasma? And what about Barbarena?

So both the plasma and barb were making noise. The plasma was actually making a LOT of noise. The aftershock does what I need. Taking the Barbanera off my board was really sad, but I'm not really using it in current projects and the c4 does a pretty good MF-101.
I wanted to clarify with the Barbanera, I think the noise coming from that one was my own fault in how I had my power cords routed (in parallel to the sound signal).
The plasma was cool, and I loved the lightning coming from it, and I think the noise coming from it wouldn't have been a problem if I was doing a rock show, but since it is at church, I needed it to be completely silent when bypassed.
