Great looking board, very clean. We see brown Boss Bass Chorus pedals once in a while, but much less the Flanger.

That TrueTone Pure Tone... 1st time I'm noticing on a board around here and not really familiar with it. Looked it up on the TT website, says it's like your connected directly into your amp. Not sure what that means ? Also, since it's a buffer, some pedals might not react well to it (exagerated pops or clicks). Are you experiencing that ?

I’m the original owner of the Boss Flanger. Had the Chorus as well for a long while.

The Pure Tone serves as my output buffer — last in the pedal board signal path out to the amp — not my input buffer. Provides a consistent signal to the amp regardless of the pedals engaged and allows long cable runs. No pops. TrueTone’s description is for guitarists (larger marker there) using it as an input buffer, so the pickup(s) see an impedence similar to an amplifier’s input when using effects pedals. i use the Peterson Strobostomp as my input buffer.

Tight, clean and nice.

Two tiny tips regarding maximum reliability:

  • A solid connector plug may cause loose jack-inputs over time.
    When you press the switch the pedal moves slightly while the other pedal moves less, and the plug moves (sideways/up and downwards) while it's the jack-input. It's like pressing against a jack-cable plug that is connected in a jack input.. over time that will make the jack-input pins and/or the jack-solder-connection-pins weak, causing: popping sounds, buzzes, or no sound. It's wise to replace it with a small patch cable to prevent this issue.
    ( EBS and Ernie ball patch cables have thin connectors, those fit there)
  • I would replace the 3 bottom straight-connector-dc-cables, with angled-connector-dc-cables, so the wires have less of a bend.. the internal wires of the cables can fail over time because of tight bends, especially with 9v cables that have really thin internal wires by design. The left one is at quite a bend and high risk of failing at some point, other 2 are okayish, although i would replace all with angled connectors because it's tighter visually.
I like how clean, simple and tight looking it is. That case is really cool and fits perfect.. my compliments. :smug:

Thanks. I’m gigging regularly, so the board was built for abuse. You may note the small fence on the top and sides to protect the jacks. I’ve had stray boots play havoc with the top-mounted DC jacks. These days, I play rock, hard rock, alt rock, punk, post punk. But I’ll venture into Americana, country, blues, pop when the project calls.

Thanks! I’m happy with the Agamidae. My advice on the One Control loop switchers is to be aware that the jack spacing is tight. Regular pancake or SquarePlug right-angle plugs won’t fit. EMS or RockBoard flat patch cables work as do barrel plugs like I’ve used.

i had the brown Boss chorus and Flanger, also the OC2 in the 90s.
Gave away my pedal case with those plus a Boss bass overdrive, JD bass wah wah and TU12 tuner to my brothers bass player for an undefined temporary loan. Never saw them again.

picked up a bass again 20 years later and discovered all that stuff was now known as ‘vintage’.
Regrets, you bet.
