Shroeder "Mini" 12" cab???

I've had one person say the Schroeder Mini 12+ is warmer and somebody here posted that the Bergantino HT112 is warmer. I'd like more comparisons between these two. I assume they both have excellent highs.

My fave cab so far that I've actually tried is the HT112 and I've been told my keyboard sequences will sound good thru it as well. But the lower weight and 4 ohm option on the Schro Mini 12+ are very inviting.

What concerns me most is the comments about the Mini 12+ being 'middy' and having less fundamental.

Anybody else have anything to add here? The Mini 12+ with upright? How accurate and natural-sounding is it? It sounds interesting but like Tom said, the most concerning thing to me is the comments about it being very mid-rangey with not enough fundamental. Of course it won't have as much fundamental as say the 1210 but is it "enough" especially for low C?

That's interesting. Sometimes I have experienced cancellation with our system. I've been adding some 100hz on my Ultra and it seems to help some when that occurs. I'm getting a nice start on a collection of 112 cabs is why I asked. I plan on trying a varitey.

Per your collection of 112's... I notice you have an Epi112NYC... have you considered a 112UL.... extremely lightweight and IMO, more articulate than the NYC, with a sweeter high end due at least in part to Nick redesigning the crossover a while back. Also, I notice my Ultra lacks a little low mid presence with almost every cab I use... I usually bump a little between 150 and 250 depending on the room and cab.

I'm actually considering a stack of the schroeder 12's right now, a mini12+ and mini 12, both lights. I'd really like to know about the sound of two schroeder 12's. I'm looking for a light weight replacement for my stack of two aguilar gs210s, and hoping the schroeder's will do the trick. I'm also looking for a more balanced tone with more low end and low mids, and less of a peak in the mid-mids..which make the aguilars sound a bit honky i their midrange.

Ah, I see you're loitering over here for Schroeder-wisdom...

The way I see it, is that the Mini12 cabs are the lightest and most compact yet loud bass cabs you can get with workable tone. But there is no way that a standard 12" woofer in such a small ported cab firing into a very short horn could exhibit even close to flat response. But it should put out substantial amounts of mid-bass and low-mids which is where much of the bass guitar energy lies, hence the loud and 'bassy' tone.

That colouration may be what you're actually looking for but if you really do want a more balanced tone then this isn't the route to take. But I'd go and play some yourself!

Ya, I'm here for insight on ramps, cabs, boutique gear, and the like. I actually haven't seen you at the ldld for a while, but I digress.
I'm going to be visiting Jorg at his shop, where I'll bring along my rig and basses for an a/b. I guess when I say balanced I might be being a little bit fecitious. The aguilar cabs I have color the mids a lot and I get kind of a honky tone in the midrange. That bump is right in the mids, not really the punvh you would get in the low mids, but just above that. It kind of reminds me of the tone that robert deleo gets on stp records. I'm trying to get less of an emphasis there, and more lo mids/bass, with a bit more glassy treble I suppose.
