Shure PGXD14

Decided a wireless setup for my bass rig would be easier on me and my need to pace around while playing. So I ended up getting the Shure over the Line 6 G50. So far it's good. With my amp in the basement I walked around the upstairs of my house and could hear the bass no problem. So I'm thinking if it'll work through my floor, it should work on an open stage no problem. Anybody else have experience with the Shure digital setup?

not the sure digital aside from selling it...lol i work for a music company...personally i really like the sound of the PGXD stuff, a super clean sound, but IMO i still wouldn't touch the digital stuff yet as the technology hasn't progressed out there in the market enough or has there been much experience in the product itself.

i had a shure SLX UHF and i didn't realise how much i shoulda hated it until i got my sennheiser ew100 wireless. but honestely the Digital product is still ok!

I have sold and installed them. While I seriously prefer the ULX Digital systems, you pay much more for it. The Shure is a really good sounding piece and I've had no problems integrating it into already heavy Wireless environments. You would be very satisfied with one. Regarding the not yet trusting the new technology manner of thinking.....if it says Shure and it costs a pretty penny, it works. Shure doesn't put it to market unless its tight. Granted, Shure's entry priced products have never really been the best value for the money. They make a rock solid product, but for less money you could always get something from AT or Sennheiser or similar quality. And we've all heard mostly good things about the Line 6 digital which is pretty cheap. Shure make a really great good wireless such as the ULX and higher. These are extremely good wireless systems, the most dependable I've used in many moons of doing this stuff. Shure spends more on RF research and lobbying in DC in an attempt to continually search permission to reserve air space for our industry than all other wireless manufacturers combined.

I do agree that the SLX systems did not sound "great". I would equate them to the AT 2000 series which are considerably less expensive, and I can understand moving to the Sennheiser. I use the AT 3000 series wireless systems, mostly because they gave them to me. They've never let me down, and I've always gotten the tone I wanted. But if I was buying I would give the Shure Digital a listen.

the SLX sounded perfectly fine once i had a 4-string...and honestly not a problem on guitars vox etc...but if you have a 5 you would be dissappointed. it compands it horribly. and not a full 20-20freq. so you loose out a little. the sennheiser full ranged systems sounded amazing, and also has impedance correction for active pickups. its super cool...

Update..
So far, 7 practices and 1 gig with the Shure PGXD. It's been great! I was out in the crowd during sound check and it was still working great. No noticeable delay, no cutting out, and no interference. My guitar player bought a Seinheiser(sp?) Wireless that he's happy with. Although he is jealous that the Shure set up came with a nice padded case.
