Shure PSM400 wireless IEM

Is anybody using this Shure IEM system? If so, are you having any problems with it? I am trying to use six PSM400 systems at one time in our Acoustic Gospel group, and I am having a lot of problems with signal drop out. Shure product info says you can run six systems at once, but so far, that has not been the case for me.

I have all six in one rack, with the antennas mounted on front, and the rack on stage with us. Shure reommended I buy an 'Active Antenna Combiner' ($3800) to potentially solve my problem. I can't see spending that, considering I did not pay that much for all six PSM400s.

Also, is anyone using six or more wireless monitor systems at one time, and having success? What brand?

They actually made very few PSM 400s in the range that will be outlawed. Look on the Shure site to verify Which set you have and which will be trouble. Mine have been great over all. Some minor dropouts at certain clubs but nothing I too bad.

So they changed the frequencies on the newer units? I assumed they were the same, mine is older model and in the resticted zone.

I am the only one using Shure systems in any of the bands I work with. I use a Shure guitar system as well. I am also in a fairly rural area. Their is some hiss and in some places I do get some dropouts but not a real issue to me. Still far better than the other systems I have seen others use. Carvin ( new or old ) an AT are much worse as far as I can tell.

Thanks for your help. but the PSM400 series only has three groups available total, and I must stay in the same group (and only two groups have 6 channels available), so frequency seletion is limited to two choices total, either the six channels in group 1, or the six channels in group 2.
