Shuttle 9.0?

It allows us to keep it cooler, sound fuller, get more headroom, more watts...and how it feels...etc. Feels- that is a very big, key thing...we want our amps to be as dynamic as possible and not to hit this "squash" as some may do. There are several factors that are going into it.

Perhaps, but given that the increase in power is only a couple of dB at most, surely it would barely be audible (and significantly less than could be achieved with additional speakers)?

In a hot climate (Australia), I've had no problems with overheating, although it would be nice if the fan wasn't on permanently.

And FWIW, while the black panel is "sexy", I actually prefer silver, which is much more visible in low light.

I'd also like to see the intensity of all the blue LEDs reduced a bit. IMO they're unnecessarily bright, and I guess I'm not much into bling.

I agree on most accounts: adding more speakers is usually the most efficient way to increase DB. And yes, we're very proud your amp doesn't go thermal. We go to great strides to insure that.

Also, I like the silver too. We wanted people to know at a glance though, the difference between the 6.0 and 9.0

Lights- man, they are retina searing. On an outdoor stage in daylight though, they are a big help. Also, under bright lights.

We're sincerely thrilled the 6.0 does it for you.....it will remain in the line. Heck, I still gig with a GBE1200 and a NeoPak.

If you're big enough for patents you're certainly big enough for NDAs! Any company that is concerned about maintaining its trade secrets as protectable IP needs to use NDAs when disclosing confidential info. It's not just a question of whether you trust the individuals to whom you have disclosed the info, failure to use an NDA can also give other third parties an argument that you have not used reasonable efforts to protect your trade secrets and that your trade secrets are, therefore, unprotectable.
 
So much so that I've just brought in a NEOX-112 cab from the US to go with it (I don't think they're available here).

The airfreight cost almost as much as the cab itself! :crying:

this is the very first time we've done the patent thing.....because of how competitive this market segment is......and I understand your points. All is good with our process but, thank you for the tip.
 
This is just an example of perfect timing. I was thinking of something portable to use in conjunction with my DB 750, when I don't have the Herculean ambition to bring it out to, say, a rehearsal. What were my options?

1. AG500SC. Great sound. But not exactly pocket-portable. Kind of defeats the point of a 'small' substitute for the DB.
2. Walkabout. Great sound. But not mine.
3. LMII. Had one. Didn't like it. Wouldn't get another.
4. F1. Maybe. Don't know.
5. GB Shuttle 3. Had it. Loved it. But too low-power.

And then this comes out. Goodness, goodness gracious.

We do severe high ambient temperature testing on all of our product. The fan always runs at a slow speed to improve thermal tracking of the fan's temperature servo with minimal hysteresis and hunting. What this means for you is even better performance under high loads in hot climates.

Thermal performance means everything for the touring guys.
 
and when I ran it you said "keep this one quiet"... I did and look what happens.
Let me just say that 900 watts to a 4 ohm load is noticed. Show up at an outdoor gig with an Uber210 and get the job done big without hitting a clip light. This is the only head in the line that hits 900 Watts at 4 ohms.
 
You know... I bought an AI-Focus a year ago and have avoided this site like the plague because of the Wallet damage that it creates (for all of us! :p).

Don't buy yet my 4/5 stringed Brothers! The companies are finally competing!

This time next year you'll be able to have a 1,200 watt (tube-pre) @ 4 pounds for under $800 US!

Be patient and love what you're playing through for just a little bit longer!

Am I correct in assuming that since the Shuttle 6 isn't as high power as the Shuttle 9 that the PHAT topology wouldn't benefit the Shuttle 6 during operation in thermally stressful conditions?

Parts of it might not be needed. I'm afraid I want all GB people to be very discreet when talking about PHAT.
 
As excited as I was to see this... (b/c I need a backup to my SVT-CL & would love a tiny amp) I think I'm gonna side with Top_Ten & get a lil more excited about possibly getting a steal of a deal on a 6.0 soon!!!

I'm with you on that one. SOld my old shuttle for a VB-2 (which I love) but I do miss the portability/power of the 6.0 (practice studios... I live in Japan)... might be time to start looking for a pre-loved shuttle!

I'm curious about cabinet choices with the 9.0. If running say the NEOX212T (a 4 ohm 600 watt RMS cabinet) should I be concerned with the additional 300 watts over powering it? It seems like the cabinets and amps currently pair up well. i.e. Shuttle 6.0 with 4 ohm 600 watt cab.
