Check out my "cost of life with sibelius" thread. I've used both. I bought Sibelius last year because I've been told so much that there's no learning curve and that it's easier and better. This was not my out of the box experience, but I'm getting along fine with it now.
Bottom line is they are both expensive, they both accomplish the same thing, both are awesome, both are maddening and terrible. I don't really prefer one over the other, but I hope to never switch again, because it is painful.
There are a few things so far that I like better about Sibelius, but there are few things that I liked better about Finale too.
That may not be helpful, but I guess I'm saying, don't worry about it too much. A consideration is what do the people you are most likely to collaborate with use?
