Side effects from a very straight neck?

I looked in to that, but this G&L uses a deeper 6 bolt neck pocket. The Stew-Mac shims wouldn't be long enough to fit the entire pocket, and the holes wouldn't line up either. I still think the whole neck pocket shim is a good solution, but it'd have to be a more custom fit sort of thing.

They sell blank shims at .25, .50, and one degree that have square corners and no screw holes, if you set it to the back of the heel you would get to zero thickness at other end and would get the desired effect. You cut your own screw holes with a paper punch.
