Well, here's the thing. While I personally wouldn't be losing sleep over a mildly sarcastic statement on a message board, if you find that people respond negatively to certain things you do, you have to seriously reconsider the "it's not me, it must be them" defense mechanism. I remember Floyd Eye - a former TB poster who truly couldn't express disagreement on here towards someone without being a total jackass - made a thread in the Lounge that pretty much broke down to "I'm an ass. Being an ass has gotten me in trouble before. I know I shouldn't be an ass. In light of that, I think I'll continue to be an ass." He got banned a few weeks later.

On that note, am I the only one here seeing the irony that TwoFingers is being critical that people are too light skinned, yet he's quitting Talkbass over a minor infraction? I remember I got an infraction a while back for something I seriously wasn't cognizant about. I chuckled over it. Made a note not to do what got me the infraction and then moved on with life.

I always find it fascinating when someone who chooses not to participate any longer feels the need to post one last "goodbye" thread to justify his desire to leave a forum.

I'm always amazed at the ones who make a thread saying that they want the moderators/forum owner to delete their profile. I've stopped posting on numerous forums throughout my tenure on the interwebs. I just simply quit visiting the forum. I don't need my profile deleted to quit posting.

Yeah. Can you imagine, like, walking into a bar, having a drink, and then announcing as you leave to all the customers and staff, in a loud voice, "I don't care for this bar. I'm leaving now to go somewhere else."

That would be epic.

I think the term, at least by me, is thin skinned.

It's a free interweb. He can do as he chooses.

I think they're trying the "I'm quitting and taking my ball with me". It just... doesn't work on a forum anyway haha.
I've stepped away from TB from time to time, always voluntarily. I haven't ever felt a need to express my leaving - even when I wasn't sure if I would come back. It's a place with what, 200,000+ members. Yeah, they're really going to notice if one person is gone.

No you're not, believe me.

On the other hand, I quite liked Floyd. Sure, he was an ass, but non the less an ass I could (for some strange reason) respect. Certain others; not so much... ;)

As a Norwegian, I'm not quite sure how to respond to this... :D
