Most of you regulars probably know--for the past few years, I post rather rarely, and I usually keep it fairly tame. Well, no more. It's become pretty obvious to me that the mods, the powers that be, and possibly an influential-but-covert consortium of think tanks are all been pointing me in the direction of posting more frequently.
I know my opinions won't always be popular. But that's what America is all about--saying dumb, off-the-cuff stuff whenever and where ever we please, especially on internet forums comprised of strangers with whom we share only the most tenuous interest. So be it. Prepare for a hellstorm of ill-informed, reactionary invective.
I feel I should warn you in advance: I will assume that all forum members are either closely allied with my opinions, or diametrically opposed. All opinions will be rendered as absolutes. I will further assume that ALL POSTERS are American. I suggest that European and other "alternative-lifestyle" members refrain from commenting on threads in which I post. I will also assume that all members are male, and will refer to women as "gals" or "females," or "cootie-monsters." Again, if you're a woman and you have accidentally stumbled into one of my threads, you may want to just go hang out on Jezebel or something.
I will also use a lot of ellipsises..........You may think it is an indication of an incomplete thought, or a sign of great intellect............In fact, I just read some Céline in college and it kind of stuck with me.
Finally, I am expecting a great deal of input from BawanaRik. Even with my spotty posting record to date, he's already sent me a weirdly inappropriate PM. Along with Mellowinman, he is surely TBOT's finest performance artist, and I look forward to his Dalinian sense of mischief.
