Silent Practice

This is what I use.

I know, it is the guitar version and not the Bass Pak version for bass. It sounds great with bass on the Normal or Clean settings though.
There is a stereo Aux input on the back where I plug in my phone for practice with drum machine, jam along to youtube tracks, etc, etc and I monitor with headphones.
Runs on 9v battery, which makes it very portable, I can just throw it in a gigbag and jam away in a coffeee shop, park, hotel room, etc, etc.

A lot of amps, especially those designated as practice amps, have headphone and aux jacks. I use the output from my phone to play along with recordings with headphones. If I have the mp3 file, I use an Android app called Audipo where I can change the speed, the key/pitch, and set breakpoints.

The audio interface computer route is great! Just play along with songs from your iTunes. Heck, you can even put together a playlist. I can also use my Rumble 100…. Or, if you want a stand-alone pedal solution, I'd say checkout the DSM Humboldt Bass Simplifier. I have the DLX Guitar version and I love it!!

I use an inexpensive Rolls PM50s. The version with the mic input pad adjustment. I just take a DI out of my preamp at the end of my pedalboard and run it into the Mic input, phone into the monitor input. Works great.

I've used a few different headphone amps, and sometimes I plug into the computer interface. But my new favourite is the Nux Mighty Plug: just plug it into your bass, connect headphones, and play whatever audio you like from your phone over Bluetooth. No cables, so you can wander around if you want.

I just use a https://www.carlmartin.com/rock-bug for convenience as it's powere by a standard pedal DC supply [that I use for guitar with a Boss ME-50], but I could use my Fender Rumble 200 head.

If by "practice" you mean technique, time, feel, groove, etc. - I just grab the bass and start playing. No need to plug into anything.

If by "practice" you mean playing along to songs to learn feel, structure, etc. - Spotify playlist into wireless earbuds, and the bass is plugged into whatever little guitar amp is handy - turn it way down, no problem.

Aux in for tunes and headphones out should be standard equipment on every amp head these days.
I have that on my two heads, Genzler Magellan 800 and Bergantino Forte HP.

A good set of headphones is really important here.
I once got a recommendation for Audiotechnica ATH-M30x, which I think are very good at reproducing the bass sounds I like.

I have a mixing board set up. My IPod and Bass go thru the mixer and out thru headphones.

I have a cheapie little Mackie mixer I bought used for $50. Works great and useful for other purposes too.

I used a Korg Pandora for many years before I got an audio interface. Looks like they're making a tiny version now.
