I've a set of very stiff flats thatare a bit of work to pluck , but I really dig the sound/tone, but I've no idea whose they are. I am told they have black silk at nut and kelly green at ball end. Any ideas?
Might just be the pic on my phone, but those look like rounds, specifically the old fender rounds
They're definitely flats. I've had Chromes on another bass, and they sound similar, but a bit more aggressive, and not as thumpy.
They are flats, have gray/silver silks at the top, no silk on the ends, and brass balls.
I just picked up a used MIM Fender P Bass & it has flats on it. Silk at top are red. No silk at ball end. ???????????????

Well, they're flats so they can't be Boomers, and somebody mentioned one kind of GHS flats having purple silk...not sure if that eliminates all GHS though, as I think they have more than one type of flats.GHS? Ball ends and silk color look like my Boomers.
Can anyone help ? I put these on my Eclipse in about 2004 - 2006 ... they've been on various basses since and have matured into being my favourite set of strings, to the point where no bass sounds right until it's strung with this set.
I need another set and can't figure out the brand of these. They may possibly be status flats. I think I've ruled out LaBellas and Rotosounds, but I could be wrong because that's based on seeing and hearing current strings from these manufacturers ... for all I know they've changed over the years. Labella's are the closest visual match so far.
