Silly(?) Ampeg Question

Are the vintage era SVT's (70's) a PCB design or is it all point to point wired?

IMHO I would not touch a Point to Point Wired SVT.

Almost always a mess. Like i said, i wouldn't touch a PTP SVT, unless it was wired by Dave Reeves himself!

Now, I won't get into any tonal benefits or that (too subjective) but in general, PCB can be easier to repair... that is, unless the PCB has a giant hole in it because your KT88 tube shorted out!

You may find this interesting too... doesnt have a truly VINTAGE SVT, but it does have a few others.

The original SVT has a PWB for the driver tubes, but not for the output tubes........ NO turret boards....

The SVT-II has a lot more boards, and they are G-10 epoxy, and not the phenolic paper from the earlier SVT.....
