Simple recording?

Hey genius recording connoisseurs!

I have to record myself playing to a few songs for an audition. I have a cabM at the end of my pedalboard which lets me input the music im playing to.

What's the easiest and cheapest (im only going to use it once or twice) way to do this into an iPad? An irig? Read Mixed things.

Ideally I'd love to just like to send everything from my pedalboard to the iPad and use my in ears to monitor. Expert mixing is not necessary, just more showing i can play the songs.

Is this simple to do?

I have a direct rig, no amp. Live in an apartment so everything i do at home is headphone play.

Ipads have a built in microphone. Not sure what that sounds like for music.

I use an Apogee Jam to interface with GarageBand.

The Jam just has a mono-input. If you already have gear that combines the music you are playing to with your bass, buy a cheap stereo USB-interface that has its own power-source and a camera-connection kit from apple that allows you to connect usb-devices to an iPad.

It is important that the usb-interface has its own power source 'cause most iPads can not power an interface via usb. The Tascam is an example:
