Simplest pleasures

The smell of dirt at a fresh foundation dig.

This incorporates two of my favorite simple pleasures:

The smell of freshly dug dirt.
Watching big construction/digging machines do their stuff.

Other simplest pleasures: The smell of freshly cut wood and grass. The sound when baseball meets wooden bat. The sound of a train whistle/horn blowing in the distance.

I love a good view of the San Gabriel Mountains, which preside over the Los Angeles area. I can be driving to work and if the light is just right, it puts a smile on my face.

Lets see, I quit smoking so that is out.
I have things and a person that makes me feel good :smug:
I like a good margarita almost daily if I could
but in the end I just love laying in the bed, playing a Sudoku till I am about to fall asleep and my dogs cuddling on and next to me.

Looking up.

We spend so much time with our eyes fixed a few feet or maybe even a few hundred feet in front of us. I will walk outside and just gaze at the sky. In the morning the clouds lit from a rising sun, in the afternoon the birds busy about their business or planes arching across the sky and at night, which is my preferred time to look up, I especially enjoy when I can see the milky way along with the myriad celestial bodies.

I could spend an entire day ( and have ) sitting along a beach watching the waves roll in, especially on an overcast day with a chill in the air. Nothing feels quite as good to me as that when I'm alone.

I have found such joy in playing video games with my youngest. She is such a gamer girl and a Daddies girl. I find my time with her to be the most precious of all my joys at this point in my life.

Our most special father daughter event is horseback riding in the morning.

3 months pre mature, she spent the first month and a half in neo natal icu. This was her very first meal. This is my most favorite memory with her.

One of the most beautiful things is when there are low clouds and for about 10 minutes before sunset or after sunrise, the sun gets beneath the clouds and underlights them. Like most beautiful things in life, it's fleeting.

why would you have a capacitor on the volume pot?
those are normally on the treble or bass cut pots

my MIM bass had Korean pots in it
All my MIM J basses came with CTS pots. Granted they were all used so it's possible they were all retrofitted by their previous owners, but the solder work all looked pretty close to the same. I was told a while back that all MIM and MIA standard basses had identical controls in them, that the only difference in the electronics was the pickups.

^This!

^This, too!

I make it a point to be outside around sunset when certain kinds of clouds are in the western sky. I like watching them go from yellow to orange to red to pink/violet/purple.

Spending time around here and up north during the off seasons (before the tourists get here or after they've gone home). The Mackinac Bridge has always been my favorite place to be since I was little, the longest suspension bridge in the western hemisphere and only an hour north of me. And anywhere north of the bridge is good stuff. You can drive for miles and not see a soul, just wilderness. And taking my daughter to do all these because she likes it just the same.

I like snow and ice, the way it dries the air, dampers the noise, kills (or at least suspends) the bugs, and invites a nice fire in the woodstove. I also like the smell of a 2 stroke engine in the cold air. April 20 2014 we still had 6 feet of ice on the breakwall and 99% of the bay was still frozen solid.
