Single Bass Gig Bag with Pocket for Shuttle 6.0

I'm looking for a decent gig bag that will hold my 5 string P-bass and a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. My G&L bag can't handle the shuttle, the pocket is too thin. I'm not touring or anything, just local gigs so I only need solid construction and a comfortable shoulder strap with a big pocket.

Any suggestions?

The iGig bag is very good for your application.

Positives: Great construction, massive pockets (including a large pocket that is specifically designed to hold a micro head, good straps and decent protection (although a touch less than some harder sided hybrids like the inCase Slim or Sadowksy bag

Negatives: Relatively pricey, a little cumbersome to get the bass in and out if you have a ton of stuff in those big pockets, given the dual 'strapdown' neck system and 'less than rigid' top. Also, the bag itself is not particularly heavy compared to other hybrids, but once you get a bass, a small amp, all the cords, cables, extension cords, tuner, etc., etc. that you need on a gig, it gets pretty hefty on your back.

All in all, it's a very good bag for those that want to fit a lot of stuff in their bass case.

IMO and IME!

Edit: The G515 is the model I'm talking about.

It's a very high quality bag, and the pocket design is great. The only negative really that a few have mentioned is that it is more on the 'soft side' end of the hybrid case continuum than on the more 'rigid hard side' (like the Sadowsky or inCase bags). However, it provides plenty of protection as long as you aren't throwing your bass in the back of an equipment van or whatever.

If that is all you are carrying, that might work. I have a nice thick comfort strap, a nice, heavy duty instrument cable plus back-up, and a tuner, spare set of strings. For the amp, dual heavy duty Speakon cables, a nice 12 foot heavy duty AC cable and a 6 foot extension with multiple outlet end. That is the minumum I would take to a gig, and no way even a fraction of that will fit in the Mono pocket.

I'll snap a shot of my F500 in the pocket for you, which is similar in size to the 6.

Here you go. The F500 is a smidge larger than the shuttle 6/9. You can see that it will fit, but not much room for anything else. And, no separation to protect the amp from scratches, etc. from the other gear. However, you could fit a small, thin strap and cable in there if that's all your traveling with... and MAYBE a small power cable and small speaker cable.

The iGig is set up much better for this, since you have a separate compartment for the amp, and then a second pocket for cables, etc. It gets heavy with all that stuff in there, but it will work.

I much prefer a small bag with cable pocket for my amp and amp stuff, and then using the gig bag pocket for the bass stuff. IMO there.

Heavy duty doesn't mean "hard to fold" or/and "occupy lot of space", isn't it?

Never-the-less strap could be hidden with the bass in the main compartment. Ok then, how big the small upper pocket?



UPD:

Thank you for the picture, it does fit.

I do attend rehearsals 4 times per week and at different places, that's the reason why I need my amp to carry around all the time. iGiG looks very bulky and Mono looks slim and handy.

I use a Comfort Strapp... and even folded, it is quite large and takes up more space than the typical nylon or leather strap:D

The top pocket is extremely small.... that's part of the issue... it is mostly for keys and maybe a few small tools. You could probably cram one cable up there.

Great bag though... lightweight, high quality, plenty of protection.... the small pockets are IMO the only drawback.

Just a suggestion. Get a good light weight bag, like a Mooradian, or Undercover. Then get a messenger bag or something like it that's easy to carry over your shoulder for the amp and other necessities.

The igig is a great bag for what you want, but in my opinion will get prohibitively heavy once you get everything in it.

KJung, you know, the main advantage of Rockbag, that here in Germany, you can find it almost in any, even very small, store.

I've thinking a lot whether to buy Mono M80 or iGiG, as you told. Anyway I should buy it somewhere abroad.

At least Rockbag is a good solution in my case. This is my 3rd rockbag already.
