Double Bass Single element bridge piezos with metal jackets?

So I have a modified Underwood on my Kay (single element soldered to a K&K string mount jack) and a Shadow SH-951 on my Roadking.

After 4 years or so, it looks like the Shadow is starting to glitch on me, so I was wondering what other single element piezos might be out there with a metal jacket. This design seems to work really well for me, and I’m not keen on something like the Realist which fits in the bridge adjuster.

Does anyone else besides Underwood or Shadow make a piezo with a metal jacket?

I have a Hurley pickup which does, although it's wrapped with shrink.
I'm not sure he's still in business though.

I have a Planet Wing Pickup, and it sounds like most other bridge wing pickups I've used. Kolstine in New York is their exclusive distributor in the U.S.

Anyone who owns a Kolstine Busetto Travel Bass has one. It might be a little to mellow for slap bass.

That’s great to hear. I use one of Vic’s slap pickups on a separate channel, so all I’m really concerned with is the bridge at the moment.
The Underwood has been fantastic on my Kay, and the Shadow has been worry free for 4 years on my Roadking.

I’m just looking to see what else might be out there. I’m not opposed to something like that or the Rev Solo, but I’d like to stay away from something
like the K&K design. I felt the K&K was a bit muffled sounding for my tastes.

At only $10 more than a Shadow, I might take a chance.

BTW, sometimes I hate how much finding what we like is akin to trying to hit a moving target. Soundpost placement, bridge placement, type of strings, action, pickup, preamp, amplifier, cabinet, and a hundred other variables all subjected to personal taste and gig requirements. Then thoroughly compromised by budgetary constraints, reliability, and ease of use amongst other criteria; and let’s not even start on transportation, loud guitars, etc.

It's definitely a bumpy ride to play standup bass. I've been upgrading my rig for the last two years piecemeal and it's been a crazy journey playing around with different cabinet combinations; but it's way better than continuing to use an SVT and an 810 cabinet. It's just not feasible physically for me anymore.

I don't know about the metal jacket, but Vic's Pickups are getting some good TB reviews, especially from bluegrass players. Very affordable, too.

You really cannot go wrong with Vic's, especially for the price (and I am picky about pickups!).

While the Vic's Model B (and Vic's other combo/bridge wing pickup choices that include a Model B) is not metal encased, it has a dual piezo element setup and is extremely sensitive. It's really hard to beat for $45US.
