I'm generally a fan of the Sherry Cask types, with my current fave being a bottle of Glendronach 25yr 1968. I also generally like the fine oak scotches too, but I also like the scotches with a lot more unique personalities, like the super peaty Islay stuff... not the every day dram, but something "different" when I'm in the mood. That's what I'm looking for in the OP. With this rating, that price per bottle is only going to go up, and by the time I finish this bottle, if you can find it, it'll probably be for at least double or triple what it is now.
I still have a little bit of a bottle of a Bowmore 1968 I bought many years ago. Those go for $800-$1000 USD these days I think.
