single string headless bass bridge

Hi all,
I'm planning to build my next 4 string headless, an I'd like to use this as bridge:

any advice on this bridge?
and there is some other manufacturer that produce this kind of bridge?

i have no experiance with headless gear, but i am almost certain that you need a head peice to anchor the strings, and single string headless bridges with a tuner built in.
any other thoughs, i have never built a headless but im pretty sure thats what you need.

Hi.

Well the link is to a normal barrel saddle Fender type bridge. That can be used with almost any tuners if they're attached to a "tailstock". And the anchor-plate is needed on the nut end.

I dug a little deeper into the ABM website and found the aforementioned single string bridge / tuner assemblies. They are also standard issue on many Status Graphite basses and I believe they will sell them separately.

sorry guys, I've just noticed that the link goes to another type of bridge. Mine is the single saddle one.
But did allpartls sell ABM or custome made bridge?

This is what you want. You'll also need the headpiece, which I don't see sold separately on the Allparts site, but as the US distributor, they can probably get it if you email them and ask.

It looks like those would require double ball strings. Does anyone know if they could be used with single ball strings, aswell?

That depends how you attach the strings on the nut end. If you have/make a set screw headclamp or something similar you can use any strings you like. ABM has headclamps that can have both db and regular strings.

I knew that you can' t use double ball strings with this item, cause just don' t fit Fender scale.

Also Hipshot is planning to release one by the new year hopefully.
I have ABM's on one bass and would love a better priced alternative. And you can just make a headstock string clamp quite easily out of brass stock. You do need to be able to tap threads though.

You can also get individual string locks from BassLab... So you are not confined to use the ABM head piece...
