Mine,...still showing "processing" and no email notice from ups or Sire,...... :( Oh well,...I wished him congrats and Merry Christmas anyway. Wishing you all the same and a Christmas hope for all of us still waiting to get the magical email soon!!! Merry Christmas low enders!

What basses did you guys order? Color /wood. I believe they do batches of one color at a time and ship out those, then the next style.
If they had a warehouse full of them then they would be shipping by order date but they are not.

Rest assured your bass is coming, every day it gets closer and closer to being in your hands.
Merry Christmas

I'm gonna assume some colors and models are more popular than others and that's part of the delays in shipping.

We both ordered white alders,...mine is a 5, his is a 4,....I figure there's a higher demand for 5's than 4's,.....so I get to wait. I don't have any gigs for a few weeks, so it's all good. Although that doesn't lessen my case of the "wanna hold it's" any. ;)

Looking for some input. I need another J-bass. I've been kicking around purchasing a Sire V7 or a Fender MIM 70s J. I'm looking at a new purchase.

I'm looking for input on quality, not cost.

I own 3 Fender Js (MIA) but need another. I have 4 Fender Ps all strung differently and am finding the need for an J for a similar reason. Passive or active is fine as I mainly do studio work.

(I have numerous other basses - Ric 4001, Aria Pro I I SB900, Thunderbird, Ibanez 755, etc etc. This is a pretty specific need for a J, but I'm willing to get a non-Fender or a Fender non-MIA.)

Thanks for thoughts, especially on a Sire V7!

Sires got a better preamp and very good passive tone. If you hate it there's also a pretty high demand for them. You could probably sell it quickly. In your situation I would just get whichever had the better colors, to be honest.

Hey DinoRock. If you read thru some post I think you'll find the answers you want as far as quality in regards to the Sire.

Thanks. I'll keep looking. Went through the most recent 10 pages before I posted. Most posts are about ordering and delivery dates. A few about lack of options in PG. Only 1 or 2 posts about quality, feel, and tone. I'll keep hunting and see if I can find more of the later.

If you're worried about the wait time order from Thomann, it ends up costing less also.
Hey PortlandBass - did you order it through Thomann and had it shipped to Portland and it cost less? Is that through the German link from the Sire site? How does it cost less to order through them? I see a 4 string alder sunburst for 389 euros, which translates to about $425, plus shipping - I'm all about saving money, so please let me know what I'm missing that would make this a cheaper ordering option. Thanks!

The quality is superb, amazing finish quality, tone is excellant and you can get any sound you want from the Marcus Miller designed preamp. Frets are finished excellent, bridhe is good large mass. Most come set up very good, just a few guys have done any setup but the were very specific on what they wanted.
If you order from Sire-USA.com they come from southern california. Call Mickey Cho and talk to him, leave a message AND email him. He is a straight shooter and not a bs'er.

These V7 basses are pro quality. I my opinion far better than the mim jazz I had.
They have a 30 day return policy to I believe.
Shipping can and does take longer to het it to the USA warehouse but they flip them pretty quick.

Email Mickey

I haven't ordered one yet, but I will in 2016 from Thomann. The one I am going to buy (sunburst with maple: Invalid Link Removed ) costs $447.08 with shipping to Portland on Thomann, while it would cost around $100 more from the USA site and would take longer to arrive.
