So still lovin my V7 5,...however, the buzz is pretty loud as soon as I start to take it off an even pan between p'ups. Yes, I know, it's typical for single coils, but wondering if anyone's noticed it being a bit louder than usual, perhaps because of the active pre? Thoughts? Comments?

in passive mode if you touch one of the pole pieces of the pickup and one of the strings (say index finger and the e string) do you hear the same buzz but louder?

Well what are you waiting for? Those 142 pages is a great love story of musician and their muse!

My Fretless model is awesome! Neck is well protected with many clear coats. The one thing I don't like is the side dots don't line up with where the fret lines are - there are only 4 dots between the nut and 12th fret line. But there are very nice neck dots you can get online (adhesive) that do a good job if you need the fret locations on the side.

There is no routing under the pick guard, just the pickup - many take the pg off and just have the control plate on the bass and that looks very nice!

The edge looks darker in these pics than it really is, definitely a medium dark brown, not the black it looks like here.

And yes, I love my fretless V7 just as much as my other 2 Sires. :D

I think that's your bass back on page 17 or so. I hadn't got that far when I first posted.

So glad to know about the routing. I can go the Jaco route if I'd like to.

I haven't made any clips of it no, sorry, maybe this weekend if I get industrious. Yeah, page 17 would be my M3 and fretted V7, the fretless is on page 70 or so. :D

Same buzz, but no louder. It's not a deal breaker, but it does seem louder than my Lakland DJ was. Seem to remember reading that there's shielding paint on these. I may have to go the full copper foil route to make it useable for recording. I dont think anyone but myself would notice it live.

I'm sorta crazy about those hums and buzzes myself so I completely understand.

When I get mine I'll definitely check for that.
