The M3 is a great basic instrument. I've had mine for a couple of months and it's just as easy to play as my MIM P Bass. Just adds a little more versatility to my collection.

I'd be very interested to hear your report on teh Neoclassic if you buy or play one.

Those of us who are of a bit more vintage persuasion would probably be very interested to hear how the simpler pre and bridge work out especially if it's half the price of the Miller.

Maybe you could find a way, but I don't think Dame has any kind of international sales or any kind of distribution outside of S Korea. Not sure where you'd buy one.

While the Sire stuff has some similarities, and I have heard anecdotally that Dames are good, a Dame will not have the Marcus Miller pre-amp which is a big part of a Sire bass to me.

I'm pretty sure there should be some differences even in the hardware, as we all heard that Marcus fine-tuned. But I'm looking forward to my trip to Korea in the beginning of the next year. Will definitely share my experience if i get to touch one.

Hi guys! I'm new here, I've been looking at Sire guitars for a while and found that it's originated from Dame guitars from Korea.
It costs only half of Sire but looks pretty much the same (didn't go too detailed into specs).
Have anyone tried Dame basses?

Is that spacing used on all the 5ST models; V & M? and is the scale also 35" on both M and V model 5ST? Can someone compare the neck profile on 5ST with Stingray 5 or Ibby BTB, or Fender American 5string?

Unfortunately I don't live in Los Angeles, so I can't recommend you any repair shops. However, Sire has a 1 year warranty AFIK. Did you try contacting them as well?

What part of town you live in? IE, valley, South Bay, etc?

aarrghh... I asked the wrong thing: what is the string spacing at the nut of the 5ST, and is it the same across the 3 model families?

I don't have the sire five string measurements. However, I think these are the correct measurements for the fender.

Fender Neck Width

Fender American Elite Jazz Bass V: 1.875 in or 47.6 mm

Fender Precision Bass V: 1.875 in or 47.6mm

tom, thanks. I found on the Thomann site: 5ST is 45mm nut. Like a stingray [at 44.5] except typical 19mm spacing at bridge vs stingray's controversial 17. sounds comfy to me

Anyone change out their pickups on their Sire (jazz style) ? If so with what? Did you like the results? How do they compare tone wise, noise wise etc. blah blah.
Love my V9-5 but really noisy at close range in single pup mode. (I know, "move away from the amp!!!)

How is the tone from the V9 when compared to V7? Is the ebony fretboard good?
