That Burgundy Mist Z7-4 has my name on it. I'm going to have to fight myself not to buy that one. (My wife may throw the first punch).
Oh wow, I'm glad I stumbled on this thread tonight. I had been GASing HARD for a stingray lately, and a Z3-5 in sparkle black or a Z7-5 in burgandy or white sounds so killer
Go a few pages back in this thread and you'll see screenshots. Z3 and Z7 models. I'm definitely interested.
For what it's worth, I messaged a store/seller on Reverb who always has a lot of Sires in stock to ask about arrivals of these new 2024 basses and they replied, "We're scheduled for a shipment in April."
As much as I want to get excited about the MusicMan clones, I already have a EBMM StingRay5 (see my avatar - Blue with a white pearloid pickguard) that I have refused to part with over the years. I bought that bass about 20 years ago. It was almost $1,000.00 less than they go for today.
I am fortunate enough to own a '76 Stingray, pre-Ernie Ball, B002414. It is the holy grail. Played only by me and David Thumbs Johnson (RIP). It has been played A LOT. Now I just take down every now and then to hear it sing.
I had to sell my EBMM basses a few years ago, and I whine about it on this site as often as the conversation allows, so when I saw the Z series on this thread, I got excited because I can't justify EBMM prices given the frequency I'm playing. It's greedy to assume Sire would make a Bongo, so I'll take the Z series in the meantime.
Beautiful, but it's missing a string. I'm just say'n.
I don't have any extra strings for you unfortunately. I only ever receive the 4 strings that are supposed to be on a bass.
I love my StingRay5. It's the most expense in my hangar, but not my favorite. I find the tone a bit too bright. But, anytime a song comes along that requires slapping, I reach for the StingRay5 everytime.
My favorite bass (right now) is probably the Ibanez anb205.
My cheapest bass is the MM M2, while at the same time, being one of the best playing basses I currently own. I use this bass and the anb205 when I want a modern hifi bass tone.

Since we're now officially the Sire & Stingray club, I have considered a Stingray for a long time. But pretty much all of the comparison videos I watch show Sire coming out favored due to better build quality. Excluding the USA made Stingrays.
I really like the looks of this Stingray, but I have not liked the sound of it in videos, as much as I do other Stingrays.

Then you will forever be stuck walking down into any note on the E string. I, on the other hand, have the option of walking up.
Seriously, though, I got tired of the keyboard player being able to play lower than me, so I added an option.

Don't blame the keyboard.
Fiver's do it deeper. You could always string BEAD if you wanted to deepen your grove.
The anodized gold pickguard is what makes it unique enough for me. Putting on a white pickguard makes it any other Stingray for me.
