Sorry, that may have been a bit rude.

I mean, yes you are technically correct. But I seriously doubt the difference in weight would make a perceptible difference in the real world. Not to any degree as to make it worth mentioning as a reason for using a certain type of finish over another. Then again, I could be wrong.

The M7s are sexy basses. I can agree to that.

I agree the difference would be negligible. I only mentioned it because it was part of what I was told. The more important part is allowing the wood to dry.
I'm really agonizing over the M7. I wish I could find one to play before I buy. I'm wondering what is sounds like. I've mostly played Ps, so I don't know if I would be thrilled with the sound.

Let me re-frame the issue so that you'll feel better about it: You don't need BOTH the natural 4-string and 5-string... split the difference, be practical, only get one of them.

It would be a 5. I traded my only solid 5 for another 4 to leave at the studio so I don't have to carry anything to rehearsal. Lately I'm finding more need for a 5. An octave pedal doesn't sound natural enough.

I'm sure it would resell pretty quickly in the TB Classifieds. Minimal risk.

Well they just announced, pre-orders are the 8th meaning production is only ramping up now. If you want to hear something Andre Berry has been playing prototypes on tour. There are a few vids on youtube.
