Double Bass sit or stand?

One of the unique things about this instrument is this topic of stance, functions strengthened or not by how we sit, stand, hold our bow. Learning the bass really becomes a personal experience because we find things that work for us but may not apply to all. For many other instruments there is one correct way to do it.
I could only start to sit while playing after I had taken the time to learn what worked and what didn't. Long end pin, shorter end pin, stool height and angle of instrument all had to be experimented with for me to be to be comfortable. There may be something new I learn tomorrow that will necessitate a change for me for the better. Sitting has really helped me to max out my sound and reduce fatigue.
