Six String Fretless Bass Fusion/Prog Rock

I always enjoy your vids! In light of the recent Giacomo Turra kerfuffle, I'm curious - do you do any miming in your vids, or are the takes live?

I mostly record live. But usually in parts because I want to have different camera views and I only use one camera and do everything myself. But I might add some effects in my DAW later or even do some doubling sometimes (or one effected channel and one clean channel). Usually I do a few takes until I am satisfied. It takes a lot of time to record the song and do the video and so.

Very nice playing, you have your own style and are doing your own thing, which I always appreciate. क्या आपको कुछ हिंदी आती है? Just guessing from the track title

What's the story of the bass? Looks and sounds great.

Thanks. I don't speak hindi but I lived in india for six months to continue my sitar studies.

The bass is a Ramsay (RMI) custom bass. Think he doesn't do anything anymore now. I wanted a six string fretless with a small string spacing from 14 or 15mm. I don't like six string basses with wide string spacing, my fretted Ibanez one has 14mm and my Ken Smith Burner 6 has 16.5mm, that's the max I want.

Outstanding!! Getting a Mick Karn vibe….and that’s a good thing! Still your voice comes through. Love it!

Thanks. I am glad my voice comes through. I love Mick Karn but I don't want to sound like him (for me there is only one MK) and in fact I am trying to get away from that. But I guess I can't hide it! If you use some eastern influences and play fretless and use slides etc. the comparison comes up pretty easy for most people.

Made a new track called "Bin Fret Wala" with my Six String Fretless Bass. I am using the high C string quite a bit. Let me know what you think if you will.

Very inspiring composition and playing Les Fret, your intonation is spot on and key to your vibrato adding so much to your melodic lines. Kudos. My YouTube page has a six string fretless freestyle tribute to my dog Pi, I use piccolo strings and alt tunings as well. Really enjoy your compositions, rhythmic and harmonic creativity.
