skull candy sounds horrible to me, i am comparing it to sennheiser cx300,cx300 is one of the best earpiece in the market IMO, try it =)

Sure are. My cables are NOT removable. If they are, nothing in the documentation shows it.

Your cable is sealed into the connector plug. The plastic piece that the cable is molded into comes apart with some coaxing from the base of the ear bud. Check out the link I attached from Logitech support, walks you right through it.

They didn't stay in very well, and there's no seal, but still they sounded better than the Shures.

Like I said, eventually I bought real ones, but I used them for two services and sounded fine.

This is another option with the apple earbud.

Maybe I have a newer model? Here are mine with the aftermarket cable, 2 flange tips, and I pulled one apart so you could see how the detach.

Ahh, cool! It's nice to be able to replace the cable. Mine only lasted about 2 months (14-16 gigs) before they started shorting out on 1 side. And I swear the new cable made everything sound more full and clear.

the thing to also remember you are buying into shure's BASE model IEM. Of course they aren't gonan do the job, but have you heard the 315's or the 425's?? vastly different nd considerably better. sure the pricepoint isn't there, but start comparing apples to apples, and features to features. sure skullcandy's will be cheaper, but will they hold up (even though they state bombproof housing...)

Agreed I tried shure 425's and I'll take my UE's any day over them.

Just an update. I picked up a set of the UE Trip fi 10's. Huge difference from the stock shure se-215 and better than the Skull Candy's (but, not as much as you might think...to me anyway). Bass sounds way better and everything else seems to balance better.

I used to have a Skullcandys and they were really good earbuds for the price. After they were stolen I bought a pair of Klipsch Image S4's and wow do they sound awesome. I also use them for church thru an Aviom. IMHO, the iphone headphones are completely horrid.

Seconded on the Klipsch. Best overall response for less than $200. For not having 3 drivers I'd put them up there as the best earbuds I've ever had that I feel fine with using on a daily basis. At $55 regularly now they're a steal too.

Klipsch's warranty is amazing too. I had my backup pair right ear short out, contacted Klipsch, they second day'd me a replacement pair at no cost, didn't even want the old ones back. So now I've got 2 working sets and one that still works fine in the left ear that I'll use for audio monitoring when I'm shooting video.

For pro use a purchaser might want to know the latency of wireless earbuds. Bluetooth can add 40ft (40ms) of latency and some might be bothered by this.
There are wireless earbuds that don't use other protocols that have barely any latency. They are "pro" and cost more.

I bought a set of Fonge ear buds (can't recall the model#) off Wish.com for less than $10. Probably made in the same factories as the name brand models. Detachable cable. Excellent sound and bass.
