SKUNK!!!

Damn, first, a centipede runs up my leg a few days ago.

Tonight, I was unloading the car and standing in the garage. A freakin' skunk comes waddling/skurrying(sp?) out from the side of the house (WHERE I JUST WAS, PUTTING THE TRASH IN THE BIN!!!), across the garage doorway, and into the front yard.

I let out a shout (...a manly one, too!) as it went by. Just glad it didn't stop and unload on me. Or worse yet, run into the garage and unload.

The dog got nailed a few years ago in the backyard. What a STENCH!!!

Around here in CT, especially during the summer, it's pretty common to smell that whiff of skunk wafting for miles. Look closely and you'll see the carcass flattened somewhere on the road.

The first and only time I've ever seen a live skunk was when I was on a ride-along with the police. We were dispatched to a wild animal call, there was a skunk wandering aimlessly around a cul de sac. They look so funny up close; their bodies seem too round and fat for their stumpy legs and feet.

Long story..

I remember one night I was coming home from work and was dead tired, 14hr day. Anyways I get to my apartment and there is a skunk right at my front door. I didnt know what to do, if I scared it or threw something at it to get it to move it might unload on me.

So I went to a near by tree, sat down and waited.. Well apparently I feel asleep and woke up the next morning still by the tree, hahaha but the skunk was long gone.

Not a manly story to be owned by a skunk but I wasnt about to have my house stink for months.

I've seen plenty of skunks around here but I've smelled them far more than I've seen them. My parents' dog has been sprayed twice...my dad swears by dish soap and then a lot of Febreze to get rid of the smell on her.

One time a couple of friends of mine were jogging in the early morning. Their dog went after a skunk and the skunk sprayed. As they kept jogging the barely-there breeze was just enough to carry a fog of little droplets of skunk smell all over them. She called in sick to work for that day. :)

I think we might have to take one of your man cards for that... you should have taken it head on :D

Where I grew up in NY we have tons of skunks. Our dog got sprayed a couple of times... never fun!
