I'm over blowhard people wether it be singers, guitarists, bass players, kanye's, whatever.

No, I'm not over the slap technique. Just a more discerning listener.

There's not much call for slap in a Tom Petty tribute band. Besides, I have flats on my bass, which doesn't sound very good when slapping. Slap is not my cup of tea personally, but if you like to slap then knock yourself out!

I cant slap. I play fingerstyle. One of the guitar players in my band has always said he could play bass, and he always proved it when he picked up my bass by spanking the crap out of it. Then came the day that I couldn't make a gig we had coming up and I dropped in on a practice where he was trying to cover the bass.

Airplane crashes into train wreck.

After the gig he told me that he hadn't been aware of how much 'that tasty little stuff you play' affected how the band sounded.

I would love to be able to slap, so I could show off, but I'd rather be able to groove.
