Yep, he plays good. Great guy, he even sent me a transcription for the song..I'm not surprised it broke, he said that they were Dean Markley Will Lee set.. I broke mine Markley Prestias in about a week and a half

For a while I was breaking B and E strings pretty often on my old Ibanez (good quality ones too). Thank god that phase is over.

a buddy of mine was trying out a bass at a garage sale and the headstock fell off when he plucked the D string!! so we left....

Anyone that reguarly breaks strings should check:

The bridge or nut for spurs and file them down, or
Play ALOT lighter!!

I agree. He may also have light gauge strings and those G's are like guitar strings. I'm an old school thumper and don't like the trebly, shrill highs either!

I used to break G and even a D string on occasion. Mostly the G, obviously. It was a G&L bass. Looked for burrs, didn't see anything. I'd carry extra strings, and old string sets to do emergency restrings.

First time it happened I wasn't prepared, no spare strings! Luckily it was on the west side of town, and I had dated a female bass player before from the west side... and I usually break up friendly, not a lot of drama. Called her up, she was home, and brought me a G string.

Ahhh the power of the bass player.. Able to get ex-girlfriends to drop off one of their G strings with just a phone call. I don't remember if it was new or used.....
