Slapping on an SX?

Sounds the same as any Fender Precision or Jazz. Go here:

My SX jazz is my favorite slap bass of all the five basses that I own.
Absolutely no problem and the tuners actually works fine...

Both were completely stock and set up identically with new roundwound strings except the SX's strings had a tiny bit more wear, which I still maintain is what made it sound fuller.
I got an SX P bass, put some old Ibanez pups in her & soon some new CTS pots & a new bridge, but the the SX slaps as well as my Fender P. No probs at all! The tuners are surprisingly good!
Never had a problem with mine. I just got back from a gig where I did slap/pop for ~20 minutes and had no tuning issues.
i didnt know which is which ( as i havent seen your comment on the bottom ) and i REALLY opt for bass02! finger wasnt so great but slap "reveals" to me a "real" P bass tone hahaha... great bass!
The 5 string is spaced < 16mm so that may be an issue for 5's. I found the tuners on mine to be cheap and rough but it did stay in tune just fine.
Its been a while since ive actually played (3 and a half years due to college) and i while i know what string spacing is i dont know what is tight or big by the dims. I had a fender P and it felt great. While we are on the subject...do the necks on the SX's feel similar to fenders or are they a different? 
The SX tone is great all around. Decent tuners too.. My only gripe is that their fretwork can be a little suspect at times. It can make it tricky to get little or no-buzz when setup w/ low action.

The standard Fender 4 string is spaced 3/4" or 19mm at the bridge. Narrow for a 5 is generally 17.5 to 16.5mm. So the SX 5 is super narrow. The SX 4's are made with the standard 19mm I think and many 5's have 19mm if that's what you want.
