Slave Head+Mesa questions

As some of you may know I recently got a Mesa Walkabout Scout Combo and I am loving it. I also have a GK 1001RB 2x12 Neo combo on the way.

My first question is I wanted to slave the GK combo to my walkabout how would I go about doing that(I was thinking going out of the effect send of the walkabout to the input on the GK?) or vice versa.

My second question is I am thinking about getting another mesa combo. I narrowed it down to 2 what are you opinions on the Venture 600 2x12 versus the M6 Carbine 2x12?

IMO, if your thing is more in the WA zone, then go for the Venture 2x12. As I have posted to you recently, I have both. The Mpluse600 is at least in the same basic family of tone as the Walkabout. The Carbine M6 is a completely different sounding animal than any of the MPulse family amps. Difference is like chimps and snakes.

In terms of linking your WA to the GK (or any other amp), the FX out on the WA into the FX return should do it for ya. Start out at low levels no matter what you do, just so you don't find out the hard way that you were wrong.:bawl:

good luck

Thanks abunch I think I decided to go with the Carbine want to try a different tone. I tried the slave and I guess that wasn't what I was looking for. I am looking for a way to "daisy chain" my two amps together to be able to send my bass signal to both amps and have them both playing at the same time.

if anyone who has experience linking amps together could give me some advice.

hmm, ok, I guess you're looking for someone else's advice on this ?

Generally there 2 ways to do what you are asking:

1. FX out on amp 1 to FX Return on amp 2. Depending on the amps have their EQ sections designed, this method may (often) bypass the pre-amp section of amp 2, so it is only a power amp for the signal from amp1.

2. Split the signal of your bass with a pedal/device. There are boxes that do this specifcally i.e. A/B-Y boxes, there are general type control pedals like the Radial Tonebone boxes that have dual outs, and there are some specific FX pedals like EQ's and compressors that have single in's and dual outs.

less commonly, there are some amp/power amp combinations that have specific slave in/out jacks on them which are designed to match up (I'm thinking Ampeg SVT and the associated Ampeg 300w power slave) but I think this is more than you were thinking of doing though.

good luck

Thanks no that was is what I am looking for I think I am going to go the pedal route with dual outs.
