while slayer is a very good band donkey kong is the best band ever....Donkey Kong sucks....you know what YOU SUCK.

...no but seriously....im not even sure id put tom araya or however u spell his last name in my top 1000 bass players. He does do a pretty good job of singing and playing though.

Best band ever? Best musicians on the planet? Uhh...let me think...nope. Some of the best, most kick-ass metal that will drive even this 40 year old "respectable" father of two into a headbanging frenzy at times? Most definitely. :bassist:

Tom Araya wouldn't even say that.:smug:
I guess that's why they would call you a "fan". So they may not be the best band ever...ever.
Just for starting this thread YOU are the best Slayer fan ever! I'll give you that.

I'm going to make statement:
Slayer is the best band ever. Every member of that band is a better musician than anybody else on the planet.
Now Discuss.
- Slayer is quite good for people that have played about 1 month to learn some slayer for practice.
- They have not proven that they can play anything outside the metal genres.
- Its just your "Im-a-metal-head-so-every-other-type-of-music-is-****-that-cant-touch-metal"- thoughts talking.

Do you seriously believe that slayer is a band that can play/improve every style of music? If they can they would be the best musicians in the world, but no they can't so the are just a kick ass metal band.

Edit: Your awkward dude!

:eyebrow:
Nothing to discuss.
Your wrong.

I have a few Mike Stern tunes I would love to see Kerry King fall apart on.
And Tom Araya (sp?), tell him I have a chart for "Donna Lee". And I'll even let him use his pick if he needs to. Or better yet, let him loose on "My Girl"- that should be good!
Jeff Hanneman- He can stay home. I'm sure he'll want to after I give him a Joe Pass disc to learn from.

Then I'd give the whole band (Dave Lombardo too) the Real Book and let them pick ANYTHING and without practicing ahead of time, just pick and play so to speak, and sit back with a drink and have a good chuckle.

In fact, I'll let them have at "Goodby Pork Pie Hat" (a slow ballad in case you didn't know).

Or heck, lets see them have at "Some Skunk Funk" by the Brecker Brothers. It's a fast tune. They like to play fast, right?. :bassist:

Now, for what they do, they're great.

Outside of that, I got nothing.....
