Small Bass Amp Doesn't Cut or Project

So an update to this: I had my sights set on a used carvin mb220 which is 2x10 and less than 30lbs, but someone ordered it out from under me a couple days after I found it.
I ended up giving up on getting anything cheap and going with an ampeg 112 rocket. It seems like it will fit all my needs and is surprisingly light for the size at only 26lbs. I'm going to be playing with a small blues group tomorrow and playing an open mic with them next week, so I'll see where the limits are. It sounded pretty good in the store and I figure if it doesn't work out I can return it and keep looking.

If this amp falls a little short on you bigger gigs, you could do the trick many Fender Rumble 100s do. Get a second one and run a line from the Effects out of the first unit to the effects return of the second. You go from 100 watts with one 12" speaker to 200 watts through two 12" speakers. Bigger (twice the speaker surface area) and louder (twice the wattage) if needed. Leave the second behind if not needed.

This set up is easy to operate too. All control (volume EQ and everything else before the output stage) is controlled by the first unit.

Thanks for the tip MadJack, that sounds like a pretty powerful and portable setup for larger bars and outdoors. If this Ampeg works out and I end up playing larger shows I'll probably just suck it up and use my 70lb Crate cuz I'm still trying to budget myself and I refuse to sell good functional gear.

That's a beautiful bass in the pic, is that an Ibanez? I ripped all the frets out of my squier p bass and set it up as a budget fretless, but it's still not exactly the most playable thing ever lol. I was looking at getting the same type of Ibanez but as a hollow body fretless.

As for me, right now my main rig is my Ashdown AAA Five 15 FF125, a 125 watt 1 X 15" combo. It covers my needs in the foreseen future. I'd like to get another, or even better, a AAA 120-15T EVO for my stack.
