Small body basses?

I am looking for small body basses, 4 string. I have a Schecter Silletto and I do like the smaller bodies. I am not looking for a Steinberger, or violin bass but a conventional looking bass with a smaller body. Any recommendations?

Are Spector bass bodies smaller?

Musicman Sterling would be what I would recommend. Nice fast neck and a good downsized body matched with top notch workmanship. How can you go wrong?

I like my Sterling, and compared to a SR or just about any Fender, yes it has a small body, but there are smaller. Warwick Thumb is so small that I find them difficult to play sitting down, but they may work for you.

You just want a small body? That's not much to go on. You don't care what kind of sound? My Alembic Essence has a very small body, and I think the best electronics in the business. Love it.

??? Ibanez are well made basses, imo. Nice compact bodies, light and easy to play, especially the SR series.

I think Corts have small bodies, very small iirc.

You don't mention budget. On the high end there's Curbow, on the lower end there's Cort Curbow. Uber-small body, great sound.

I wasn't sure at first if you were looking for small bodied basses or small bodied bassists.

If it was the latter, I would say to look for a guitar player, they're easier.

I love my Pedulla MVP. It's pretty small.
look for a used one on ebay....but not anytime soon, cuz I'm shopping there too.

Traben basses have small bodies.

On the older side, Fender made a series in the late '80s and early '90s called the HM (heavy-metal) series. They were a small P-bass body-style, with 3 jazz pick ups, and a 5-way switch. (I have the five string version).

My budget would only be up to $2,500.00. And as far as sound....well, I can manage a lot of that through electronics mods on a "quality" bass and that is all a matter of opinion as well.

Unless I mispelled "basses" that is what I meant NOT small bassists.

for that you could go with a euro spector and have a pretty good bit of money left over, spend it all on the thumb or get a better deal on a used one, find a good deal on a used roscoe lg or pick up a sterling...all of those basses are great...there's a new, old stock gibson era tobias basic 4 string (from around '95) on ebay right now that's going for right about what your budget is, and those basses kill...
