I did this the other night...might help you understand the options.
Since my band has our own pa I carry a SANSAMP paradriver in my gig bag. If my amp goes down I can hook that up and run the DI out on it and push some sound through my monitor.

In a perfect world this may work, but I get called to do alot of sub gigs, and I usually walk in not knowing what PA setup will be there. Therefore I need to have an amp and cab setup. Most times I am covering the room without FOH support.
Main thing was the cost per size. The Puma 900 I got for $615 whereas the Quilter 800 would have been about $500 with tax. I've played the Puma through my F112 and loved the sound, plus I can just sell it in the future for what I paid if I don't like it.
hey if you love the sound then that's game over. Only thing I'd say is that you could also sell a Quilter BB800 for about $500 as well. Just something to consider.
I'm really curious because I'm in the exact same spot - trying to decide between a Puma 900 and a Quilter BB800 haha. Sort of seems like, do ya want flat and wide or narrow and tall. At least with flat and wide it could slide into the laptop sleeve of my backpack.
I am in the same boat as you, I have an SVT but need something a bit smaller and more versatile. I have narrowed down my decisions to the GK MB500 and TH500
If you're happy with the brand you're using, get another from the same company.
I'm very impressed by the Quilter Bass Block myself. So much so it's on my current "to buy" list. Excellent sound and value. A little unorthodox when it comes to it's control arrangement. But if you work with it a bit, you may discover you like it better than what you usually use. I thought it was probably one of the best designs to come along in quite awhile.

The GK MB 200 would drive that cab all you need in a pinch, and it would fit in the pocket of your genzler gig bag.

backup? Get a used GK MB200. They do the job. I did that for a while but then decide that backup heads were not so useful to me, so I sold it.
If you can find a Markbass F1 - those are crazy small and crazy loud. I loved mine. It might be a couple generations behind the current crop though.
