Doesn't look like the dust cap was damaged to be; appears to be the aluminum part of the cone that's damaged.
Are you sure they weren't there before and you just now noticed them? I know that sounds dumb, but sometimes I have gear with some sort of cosmetic issue that I didn't notice when purchased, but do notice later on close inspection.
No I looked it over very thoroughly when it was delivered and there was nothing then. It looks like it was pushed in from the front somehow.
Well, if they were made from the front, something poked it. The only question is what/who.

That REALLY depends on the alloy and temper. The appearance of those dents says to me that the material is probably quite flexible/malleable. The damage is, IMO, unlikely to spread. IMO.
I brought it back to guitar center and told them to exchange it and they did. New one will be here in a few days!
