Small, light amp

Greetings everyone.

I am in need of a 500W amp. It will power two Bergantino cabs. HT's or EX's depending on the venue.

I am looking at three: Eden WTX500, Genz-Benz 6.0, or the EA (model I do not remember).

I am looking for small and light. It will travel in a gig bag or camera bag.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I just purchased a Genz Benx 6.0 -- love it! Surprisingly, loud for it's size. ( 3.75lbs) 375watts at 8ohms and 600watts at 4 ohms. But, don't let the wattage tell you about the volume levels. That may or may not be accurate.

A literal head to head to comparison through your cabs is probably the best answer for you...

From what i understand the Mark and the Genz are very different sounding. My Genz is similar to how my SWR SM 500 sounded. Very clean, very crisp and transparent. Reflects the nature of the instrument very well...

My +1 for the Genz Shuttle 6.0 just reflects on the fact that I've owned one for well over a year (two years in July, I think) and I'm still very happy with it. I'm confident that the other choices are good as well. The main selling point for me was that it would fit in the pocket of my existing bass gig bag.

DiabolicLow B and I have the same rig (Shuttle 6.0 into NeoX212T) and I'm very happy with it.

I've been very pleased using my Shuttle 6.0 (or a Neo-Pak 3.5) into one, or both an HT112 and an EX112 for a couple of years now. I hope you are as well. I'm pretty sure you will be! Let us know how it works out. BTW the service from GB is outstanding!

Cheers,
Dennis
