small stain on the table

I m very happy with my last sadowsky ltd 2022. but just few hours after buying it a little stain appeared on the table. May be when I changed strings moving to flats.

it's a very small but...

any recommendation ?

it's below the varnish a simple pen brush on it isn't working

? below the varnish...how'd that happen...might have to scrape that piece of varnish off just in that small spot and re-apply whatever stain was used, then a drop of clearcoat to seal it...nice bass i love the HH pickup;..built one a while back...but a 5string is nice too.

Nice bass! When I bought my Maruszczyzk 5 I laid it on my bed and the SAME DAY IT ARRIVED a small screwdriver fell off a high shelf and knicked the top. I was pissed for a minute but have lately gotten more into the mindset of "my instruments are owned to be played". They're gonna get a few scuffs. Best of luck repairing yours! (You should see the headstocks of my basses )

I wouldn’t call that a stain, more like finish flaw. Probably a spot in the wood that didn’t stain, and corrective color was put on top. While replacing the strings you rubbed it off.

Yeah I know that. I play since 1989. Got around 10 bass, and my first one got a huge bug (a hair of the manufacturer !!!) on the table, same place. I like all the marks on my basses when I make them.

No one will. But I want to be the one making the marks . And yeah it's a great bass as I wrote I'm very happy.

First one is always heartbreaking, after that it’s just character.

But seriously, if you want it pristine; contact Sadowsky to ask them what stain they use, sand down the area around it then reapply. It’s hard to mess up (and easy to redo) if you move slowly and carefully.

Just take a Q tip and dab the spot with whatever stain you choose. Don't sand it. You will make a bigger mess of a small issue. Good luck!
