Maybe in a good natured way. Jean Michel and Francois go WAY back. Like 20 years. For as unorthodox as Francois technique and quirky his approach dude can freakin' play. It was amazing to hear JMP with Billy Hart too. I guess he has an album coming out soon with this lineup.

I'm been following JMP and his various projects for a while. The FLOW is amazing. Music just oozes from his pores.

He totally changed the way I approach thinking about standards. In set one he played 'There is No Greater Love' which is a great tune but severely overplayed at least around here. Those guys breathed life into that tune (and many standards) like they haven't seen it years. IMHO of course.

Yea man, They played Autumn Leaves twice (i think...maybe the second was only a tease) but both times it had unique Harmony, time, and like you said...felf fresh.
