Smooth Rounds

2 questions about the TI Rounds(assuming your talking about the nickles)

1.) Whats the tension like?

2.) Do that make a B string in a .125/.130?

The TI Jazz Rounds (nickel) are super low tension. Lower than DR Hi-Beams. A little lower than the TI Jazz Flats, if you know them.

They only come in one gauge. The B is .118 :D

I love 'em, but I play with a pretty light touch. Definitely not for everyone.

I have a pretty hard touch so I guess I'm going to have to rule the TI's out at least on my 5 string Bongo.

I have a good track record with DR strings and haven't tried Sunbeams yet. Whats the tone like on those. Also the Labella Slappers sound interesting.

I had the SunBeams for a while...but I can't really comment on them. I seem to remember only using them for a little while before I sent them off on some bass I sold. Didn't give them enough time to break in to my liking.

Haven't tried the Slappers yet, but I'd like to someday. They do look interesting :)

D'addario halfass, I mean half rounds half no tone mang.

TI Jazz rounds, are the smoothest, and the grooviest strings on earth......... bra!

Low tension isn't groovy though.

I really don't like SS strings way to bright. I don't mind strings being a bit dull when played finger style, but you can bring out the brightness when slapping or aggressive playing.

Anyone try Fodera Compressed roundwounds?

I've tried Fodera nickels gauged 40-100. They're smooth and have a tension that's light without being spongy. Really good strings. Felt and sounded great on my Warwick. I prefer a 45-100 gauge, though, and Fodera doesn't make that.

SIT Silencers are pressurewounds and feel really smooth. They impart a nice fat tone and even when they're months old, have that nice cozy woolly blanket thing going.
