Snake Strain Relief gone

Reinforced vinyl tubing and a couple of tie wraps: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] You can find this stuff at Home Depot or Osh. Measure the diameter of your snake cable and get hosing with a matching inside diameter. Use an 8" length of tubing and slit it end to end. Then slide it over the snake and use a few zip ties to keep it from sliding around.

At your hardware store you should be able to find a roll of fusible electrical tape. This is a rather thick, rubber electrical tape made for creating waterproof seals for wire connections. Wrap it around the snake, overlapping the tape. Use two or three layers. In time the tape fuses with itself and gets quite solid, while retaining it's flexibility. It should work.
