Snarky Puppy - Michael League

I like how they make their albums live and with an in-studio video of the whole thing. I find it gives a better feel for the overall songs. Plus, it makes it different from your standard album releases.

There are no weak links in the band; they are all phenominal. "Sput" (the drummer) does so well on Family Dinner; all the feels are perfect and Larnell plays his butt off on We Like It Here, especially considering that it was a last minute call and he arrived the day of the recording with virtually no rehearsal.

Trying to get even three people together where it works, grooves and the personalities all get along and everything just clicks... is tough, rare.

Wow. That video should be a textbook example of how to arrange for large ensemble. I counted 16 musicians playing on that track, and yet it never sounds crowded or overwrought, you never can't hear what you're supposed to be hearing. Fabulous playing, arranging, & mixing.
