That version of continuum is soooo musical. Amazing. And on a P Bass. So you don't absolutly have to have a 6 sting Fodera to be a serious bassist? 'magine that!

I heard Snarky Puppy play a few months ago at Purdue. Micheal was getting some incredible "synth like" tones from his bass. Does anyone know what his pedal board setup looks like?

I've discovered these guys fairly recently and am loving them. I haven't been excited about a "new" band and music like this for a long time. I saw them live a few weeks ago and they are great. I can't wait to pick up more of their music and see them again on their next visit.

I just checked out the article and had no idea Snarky Puppy won a Grammy! I don't pay much attention to the awards any more, but this is really huge.

The song, "Something" is really complex and ambitious, just as most of their work is. It's 100% live too. It is a huge leap from anything on the radio and from what routinely passes for R&B these days. It's not even the most accessible track on the album for broad appeal (Gone Under, IMO is a bit more conventional). In fact, it bears zero resemblance to anything the "machine" has been churning out recently. The fact that this fine group's work scored industry recognition gives me hope that real music still matters.
