I prefer Bow and Arrows, give me the chance to really go after prey; that's not to say anything has a chance to kill me mind you. I cheat and keep a good Magnum on me as well as a shotgun for emergencies.*
*assumes I actually go hunting and own those weapons

98k's are nice, but they are not Enfields. I've shot both, and like both but an Enfield is like playing a classic 1962 Jazz Bass, whereas a 98k is like a MIM P bass. Both good, but one just has it all over the other :)

Meh. Give me an AR-15 any day...of course, that's also one of the guns NJ won't let citizens own. Carried an AR-15 most of my years in the USAF... As I pulled law enforcement as well as security duties, the ol' AR was a lot more effective than the M=16 that was its brother; with the metal stock at least I could use the AR as a club if I had to, while the plastic butt of the M-16...eek. And ya, when you're trying to break up a fight in the NCO Club, or during a domestic dispute, the idea of using a club if needed sure beats shooting at people, especially as those bullets could go right through walls and maybe hit someone in another area who had nothing to do with the incident. Much easier to aim, for me anyway, than the revolver (heck, was it a .32? don't remember...) we also had to carry...

Back on topic, I think people should only be allowed to keep the larger, more dangerous wild animals - chimps, other apes / monkeys, felines (ocelots up thru tigers and lions) and such if they've been liscenced by the state they live in and have proper facilities to keep them in (and I don't mean in the house!!). I suspect that if states would just say you can't do it unless your insurance company is willing to cover you for any expenses caused by such animals, that would take care of a lot of them. A good bit of the problem is that some of these owners really have no Earthly idea what they're getting into. They think adopting that cute, cuddly little tiger kitten isn't that much different than going to the shelter and adopting a domestic kitten. And the woman in this case who owned the chimp seems to me to not be quite...mentally all there, shall I say? Eww...

Well stat-wise, the Lee Enfield comes out as the top bolt action rifle in the game. Although you'll find that overall, the Gewehr 43 is actually the best of the lot due the fact that a double tap from it is very powerful and very quick.

I fear them not. I'll take a stiff upper lip and good musket skills any day over a chimp with a weapon it couldn't operate!

Just plain lack of common sense. I don't know why people think they can tame and keep a wild animal for a pet and never expect anything to happen. How many more more times will something like this have to happen before it sinks through. Oh I heard this monky/chip/kong weighs something like 200 pounds!!!!!! I did not know they got that heavy.:confused:

The Gewehr, to me, is crap. I've found with the enfield that you need to empty the clip before you reload, awful for a deathmatch situation. I've found the sights on the mosin to be more accurate and I just find it to be the best, for me at least.

In a COD2 deathmatch the Lee Enfield's "5 round reload" doesn't really seem to play a part IMO...you'll never need it to a great degree because if you need more than two shots at any target you're dead. And the maps are quite large too, meaning you never end up with multiple targets.

I don't know about COD2, but in actual history, WW1 history to be exact, the Germans were incredibly impressed by the Enfield #1 mk 3. It has a 10 round capacity vs, the more common standard of 5, + the clip itself can be removed if desired so you can have pre-loaded clips handy. That and the bolt is exceedingly well-designed and can cycle rounds *FAST*. So much so that when the Germans first encountered the Brits (after becoming used to the French tactics and such) they were astounded by the high rate of accurate fire coming from British lines. It beat the crap out of anything ANY army fielded in WW1 in regards to bolt-action rifles. The GEW98 was excellent, but it wasn't an Enfield :)

This ended up making the Germans angry and they created Maschinen Gewehr Type 42,the most fierce machine gun of all times.:D
