Hi,
last year I bought a 2nd hand Yanaha TRB1006 for a nice price. Nice bass, although I found the pickups somewhat too harsh sounding.
So, I made some new pickups with AlNiCo V magnets, flanges from glass fiber PCB material, and 9500 turns of 0.055 mm wire, using my Lego bricks winding machine
I don't have a Jazz bass myself, so I'm curious about your verdict... is this typically Jazz Bass what you hear??
My own guess is that my pickups have less sparkle, and a bit more aggressive high mid.
Invalid Link Removed an mp3.
(no EQ on fingerstyle, 2 kHz dip and top end boost on slap)
Thanks for your opinions!
Regards,
Jaap
